At times in our lives we use both body and breath to protect and fortify ourselves as well as limit awareness of difficult feelings. Physical and emotional tension, pain and numbness result from using the body to manage underlying dilemmas.
Rosen Method Bodywork is uniquely effective in bringing these dilemmas into conscious awareness, where new choices become possible.
In a Rosen Method bodywork session I use touch that invites presence rather than forces change. This Rosen touch relaxes and softens muscular tension and creates space for unconscious emotional material to emerge into awareness. Subtle shifts in breath and body cue me to the client's inner experience, which I acknowledge and reflect back to them.
Together, sometimes with words, sometimes simply with touch and presence, we make space for what is to arise and be witnessed and gently held. In my experience, release and letting go happen most naturally after things are first held and accepted with compassion and curiosity.
The body has a story to tell. Rosen Method gives it a voice and opens space for a new story to emerge, when it's ready.
